My Services

Is my hair long enough for braids?

I require your hair to be at least 4 inches long. Although I may be able to grip shorter hair, it may cause extra and unnecessary tension to your scalp. This can be very uncomfortable and lead to you removing your style sooner.

If I am utilizing extensions on hair shorter than 4 inches, it may also compromise the length of time your style will last; the braiding hair may be subject to slip out.

How long will my braids last?

I guarantee my braid styles to last a MINIMUM of 2 weeks.

I’ve known many clients to keep their styles in good condition for longer, however I do not recommend any longer than 1 month. At that point you should remove the style to relieve your scalp of tension, thoroughly cleanse your hair/scalp of any buildup, and treat your hair to a deep condition.

Will the braiding process hurt?

I am often told I am a gentle/light-handed braider. I have practiced my technique to ensure I braid neatly but not with unnecessary tension. However, if you are tender-headed like me or have a low pain tolerance, you can request ‘soft braids’. Your style will be a tad less ‘perfectly neat’ than you may have seen on my portfolio, but it will always be a beautiful result that you will love! Your comfort is paramount :)

How long will the appointment take?

All services have the corresponding duration of time listed beside them. However, depending on the thickness of your hair or extra requests, appointments may take longer. Please leave extra time in the day for your hair appointment. I always take my time to ensure you have the best quality style, so I respectfully ask not to be rushed in return! Also remember, this is your time to treat yourself! So come prepared to relax and enjoy the experience.

How do I take care of my braids after the appointment?

I recommend that you purchase a silk durag or scarf as well as a bonnet to maintain your style. Protective styles are better maintained with a wrap first and a bonnet over top to protect the length as well. I recommend to protect your style during exercise, in the shower, during sleep and whenever you have no one to impress!

I suggest using your favourite oils to keep your scalp/hair follicles moisturized and healthy throughout the duration of your style.

Pro Tip: Starting to notice frizz? Apply mousse over top of your style, wrap your hair, then blow dry it in. This will help to refresh the shine and tame flyaways!

Can I wash my hair while it is in braids?

I have personally learned washing your hair while it is in plaited styles (ex. box braids/singles, twists etc.) can work as long as you are washing gently and focusing on your scalp area only. You may wash your hair in cornrow styles at your own discretion, however I find it is more likely you will disturb the neatness of the style.
